Doi is a great artist.
There's nothing particularly wrong with the guest designs per say. The problem with them is the inconsistent art style and the lack of polish.
Medusa for example is literally copied from a marker drawing into the game. Doi kept the same design but redrew it professionally.
He did the promo art for IV which is the only time he got to actually draw demons. And of course they look good

Its not that the sidequests themselves are hard or confusing, its that the overworld makes me want to kill myself. So many blocked off places, endless random encounters, and its super disorienting. To top it all off there's no proper map. If I need to get to a specific place I have to bumble around that abomination until I find it.

Choices will determine which route you wind up on. Just answer questions honestly. Gameplay is decent, but there are some glaring flaws (mainly because of smirk and a lack of a defense stat) so the game can be balls' busting hard in the first dungeon but then it'll drop off. That's not so much how Law side works, although I'd also add on that god being corrupted in this story is more a symptom of the real problem, rather than the actual thing they should be fighting.
There's something beyond this all, that will always cause the cycle to repeat. god has a role in this that he cannot help to act out, but in the end he's also forced into his role in a sense, he's just playing that part because its his role.
You need to go further; if that's all it was, then they already ended that plotline in SMT II.
They sort of addressed what I'm talking about in SMT IV; the cycle will always repeat, no matter what path is chosen, it'll always repeat, and nothing will ever change. god is not the cause of this, rather god something that exists to show how the cycle will continue.
Lucifer is also something that shows how this cycle will never end, and it'll never be anything more. Even when he wins, it just repeats again, and nothing is gained in the end. No one can ever win unless you can fix the universe itself, or fight the universe itself.
