It scratches a different itch, anon. Zone modes can get pretty fast, with Zone Race being the closest WOHD comes to F-Zero, but it's not the same. The handling in WOHD is much looser, like riding on air compared to how F-Zero controls. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but they hardly play the same.
Plus Studio Liverpool has been dissolved for years. I don't think we'll get another good Wipeout for a while, and if we do we'll be incredibly lucky. It's in the same boat as F-Zero, effectively (and unfortunately).
