My cousin actually threw a tantrum in the mall when my grandma wouldn't buy it for him.
This also happened in a country that was considered "developing" at the time, so money was tight for a lot of people. The price of the game, when converted to modern-day US dollars, was roughly $90.

My nigga, that game controlled like a drunk elephant flying a plane, but wow was it fun. I even 100% the game. Getting to level 30 was the hardest part, as the only enemies that game past 1000xp in ng+ were the final boss and his previous form when you fight at the temple.
It really is a shit game but i liked the atmosphere of it, some of the platforming was kind of fun too.
