Not every game need NG+. Okami have the worst fucking NG+ rewards I ever seen but that is fine as I was planning to replay it anyway and create multiple saves right before my favorite cutscenes. The game itself didn't need a NG+ anyway so the extra crap was literally just a bonus. While the NG+ rewards were shit it was funny enough NG+ done right, make the game so enjoyable from the start where the players would WANT to replay it themselves regardless.
Games need nearly impossible but doable 100+ floor dungeons at the end. All of them do. RPGs to rhythm games.

3 was my first game in the series. Regenerating health, seemingly massive hit points, and a good lump sum of money for ammo made you overpowered from the very start. I don't think I ever died. And the game wasn't even that entertaining.
