Which should I get on steam, Ys 1&2 or Ys VI?
I just finished Oath in Felghana and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't played it. It's just pure music and gameplay with really engaging and satisfying boss battles.

I+II. Those games are still good regardless of when you play them. Ys VI... isn't. It was the first 3D Ys game and while it was great when it was new, Oath and Origin improved on it in every single way and excised a LOT of the shitty things about VI. It's really hard to go back to it.
Get Origin, anyone who tells you I is fun is lying.

Get Ark and Origin. I&II Chronicles is divisive because of bumper cars combat but I personally really liked it. Just know that you're delving into the most ancient of action RPG gameplay mechanics if you go for it. I, for one, felt it still held up.

They just recycled the I&II soundtrack and made at least one of the tracks sound worse.
But at least the released the super arrange version of the soundtrack which was pretty nice
