After Dark Souls 2, and even with Miyazaki on board, I have no hope that armor will function ever again. The fact that it has a semi-fast Bloodborne style combat is proof of this.
Stunlocks and high damage output from tiny weapons will be the norm for the third fucking time in a row for the Souls games. Which trivializes PvE unless you challenge yourself on purpose.

From what I played, they added some features from bloodbourne (or so my friend said it was from) where you can do a special attack (called a swordart or something?) but i found most of these, at least with the weapons available, a waste of time and made you way open for attacks.
Also felt parry windows were a bit huge. Parried most of my way through the demo and most enemies died in 1 critical.
I enjoyed the level design though. At least the zone we were put in, was first sorta linear with branching paths that ultimately lead to the same area, but eventually branched vertically as well.

After playing BB for ages and then playing DaS some more the games feel completely different in many aspects, but retain the same patient, methodical gameplay. There wasn't a single fucking thing in the latest video where they fight that tree boss that wasn't a blatant ctrl+c ctrl+v, even the fucking enemies. From reuses a few minor assets here and there but what I've seen in that video just screamed utter lazyness.
I have no doubt this shit was yet another sidekick trash like dark souls 2 was. It's only natural, after all, A team started making bloodborne after they were finished with Artorias of the Abyss and they also made the dlc this year. Then dark souls 3 pops up out of nowhere and is already close to release. It was either made by the hacks in charge of dark souls 2 or hastily put together by the A team after they were done with bloodborne, which would explain why they seemingly reused everything from it. Also, one of the most visually appealing things of bloodborne is the blood bath as you fight enemies, which is only fitting to its grim scenery. Yet they copied one thing and left the other one out, which doesn't look good at all.
From what we've seen there is no attention to detail at all, which has always been the drawing factor of this series. For example, they made cooperators and invaders look extremelly good in Bloodborne, whereas now we're back to the absolutely horrible FULLBRIGHT paint-tier dark souls 2 style, which doesn't match the scenery they copied from Bloodborne at all. Then there is the fact that the character's movement doesn't even match his actual steps and makes him look like he's sliding on the ground. I'm not hyped at all and this will be the first one of the souls games I'm not gonna preorder. So far it's a recipe for disaster.
The fact it actually establishes dark souls 2 as cannon instead of pretending that piece of trash never existed doesn't help at all. Dark Souls' story should have never gotten a sequel. It never needed one.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that a lot of people have had more than one thing to play games on since last gen?
I played DeS on PS3 but DaS on PC, there was no huge community change. DaS was a bigger, grander DeS and I love both games. Online was not a huge big difference like sonygger memers here make it out to be.
I've still not played 2 but Bloodborne is a cool change of pace and an enjoyable game. I'm hoping DaS3 can strike a balance between DeS and BB so that I get the enjoyment I did out of the DaS world with speedier combat.

Every single bloodborne weapon has so many endless possibilities that the other games almost feel archaic in comparison. Take Rakuyo for example, I swear I accidentaly find out a new part of its moveset everytime I played my SKL based character. Shit's fucking amazing.
Once you get a hold of it you can pull off some brilliant moves to surprise the fuck out of people. I've seen people take weapons that are usually considered shit, such as the Kirkhammer, and do some out of this world stuff with them. It seriously doesn't even compare.
The sword art stuff they've shown doesn't come close, specially since it's a fucking consumable point.
Also, Bloodborne did away with possibly the shittiest thing about Souls gameplay, which is the insta backstab, and now we're back to the exact same fucking garbage. It's like they've learned fucking nothing.

It has full potential from what I played, there was nothing major to complain about at all. The level design was great, the boss was good, multi worked fine, movement is BB. Unless it severely drops in quality later, it will be great
Maybe a few too many re-used BB assets, some of which don't even fit with the environment. For e.g they've outright copy-pasted Yharnam's puddled cobble paths in areas, despite the fact it looks like it hasn't rained for about a century in Lothric; there's ash flying about and the sky is yellow - small things like this show a lack of thought and really annoyed me
I'm going to miss the trick weapons too, I hope battle arts is varied enough and isn't the same for every weapon type
I hope it can top BB which became my favorite after the DLC

I didn't play the test but I watched many videos and everything I saw gave me this feeling that there wasn't any afterthought to anything.
I'm not expecting anything out of this game. There are far too many reused assets from bloodborne and an overall feeling of lazyness. I almost puked when I noticed they just blatantly copied yharnamites and those loonies screaming and dancing at hemwick charnel lane with knives and wooden hammers at hand and just covered their faces with some shitty leather and called it a day. There wasn't a single original enemy on that video with the tree boss besides the boss himself. Also I didn't hear a single sound cue that wasn't a blatant ctrl+c ctrl+v.
To me it looks like a hackjob quickly assembled in a hurry for a quickbuck.
