No, FeMU is objectively the better choice. It doesn't matter that MaMU has 2 kids because MaMU itself is unusable in the endgame except as a staffbot, while FeMU is practically the same as a Female Morgan. FeMU provides male Morgan, who gets aggressor. FeMU can support a child unit, which means with FeMU and Male Morgan, every child unit has an S-rank partner.
The theory that 2 morgans > 1 morgan was retarded theorytard nonsense that was popular in the first months of Awakening when no one had played the hard DLCs and frankly no one knew how to play the game. We know better now.

I admit I haven't followed the metagame, but I did beat Lunatic and all the DLC with my MaMU. Female Morgan gets galeforce no matter what, and the male-specific skills aren't a huge deal since everything is immune to counter after a while. Meanwhile MaMU can give his stat bonus and all classes to two kids instead of just one, albeit not with a child unit wife. You can get almost all S-ranks around and end up with two superior child units instead of just one, and they get galeforce anyway.

Literally no one ever talks about tactics in a Fire Emblem thread. Fact is Fire Emblem isn't a deep enough tactics game to merit a discussion at that level. FE14 has some of my favorite maps in the series. Pair Up was a bad mechanic and the Stance system makes it so that you can't pair up everyone to win and actually need to switch stances as the map goes along.

Its more of a split form of it. The old Pair Up just gives stats and guards, no extra attacks ever and the guard is meter based instead of random. Attack stance is a guaranteed extra attack.

I'm no expert on customizing children characters, but from my point of view, Gaius seems like the best choice since you can get a bunch of helpful skills from the Swordmaster, Assassin, and Trickster classes, and can even potentially switch Noire to a warrior and give her a Bow as one I believe.
