Witcher 3 would be way better if CDPR took a step back and asked themselves what the fuck they have done in regards to designing the combat and most of the gameplay systems in the game.
But that's nothing new, CDPR was always pretty bad at designing games from the technical side, I just didn't expect them to drop the ball so fucking hard on most of the mechanics when they got some of them well in W1 and W2.

I would argue that lore and worldbuilding as well as everything that goes into worldbuilding are the most important aspect of immersion, so Morrowind is still one of the best RPGs out there...and custom magic/enchants/alchemy is fun

DaS and DD are more concentrated on this combat oriented experience, Souls have the added effect of this dark world and almost survival feel to it
WRPGs and CRPGs are more about immersion in a big rich fantasy world (usually based on DnD settings, be it crazy settings or typical settings) and interactive storytelling
They are basically almost trying to imitate table top games
