Why dose everyone think 8-bit games looked lie shit?

All 8-bit devs don't follow the Master System, they like to copy the NES.

Hence, why most 'indie retro' games look like pic related.
fucking love this game

Technically, most follow the PC Engine, since the NES didn't have yellow.

NEC really fucked up with the PC Engine in the west.

because the very oldschool Atari was an 8-bit computer. The old, REALLY old Pac-Man/COMBAT!/Yar's Revenge/Break-out! Atari. The LOOKS of the system are very low-rez and the detail is totally low. Such as it is, Indie Devs seem to mistake absolute minimalism was part of the charm. Some pixelization can be nice, but there is a point where it is just ugly and unappealing.

Because everyone who never played actual 8-bit games thinks pixels = 8-bit. In reality the "bits" had very little to do with the graphics.

That's a 16-bit arcade game

Because for the most part they did, the peak of pixel art was in the 16 bit generation although possibly in the 32 bit generation
