As a massive unrepentant souls fag, I think Bloodborne is a great game but not the best in the series. Obviously there are sour grapes about the game and for me it was the big reason I bought a PS4 but I don't think it's as flawless and amazing as some people make it out to be.

Game is fantastic, barring the multiplayer which needs some work.
Only problem I have with it is the length. It's like Frances the Mute: The Game, fantastic in just about every way but only 5 songs long.

So I just finished my first playthrough.My character became a squid.
What the fuck even happened? Why did it become aninfant Great One? I guess at least the qt doll will take care of it, but I don't understand why it happened.

Because you consumed three great one umbilical cords and gained eyes on the inside. You transcend humanity and defy Moon Presence because your insight is off the charts. If you haven't consumed the cords, after killing Gehrman, Moon Presence will grab you and force you to take his place. You cannot resist because of the lack of insight.

It is unknown until DLC or something explains all of it, which may never even be the case. The whole point of souls story is in the little things you find cause nothing is directly explained.
As for Bloodborne though, turns up things to a whole new level of confusion. You think you made a coherent plot and there are just a plethora of wholes when you think about this and that.
I have enjoyed my first playthrough. I fucked my build up after finding the moonlight sword because I wanted to use it.
Insight is a neat mechanic, and the way it ties into the lore.
