I use a decent office chair but going to get a NEEDforSEAT chair soon, mainly because they're the same quality as dxracer's but half the price. Honestly I'm hoping to find something else as NfS has pretty bad shipping setups even for their USA branch, but it doesn't seem possible at the moment as those seem to be the only two 'gaming chairs' so they're settled for a decent price compared to similar office chairs which would cost twice as much.

Actually the sitting position is generally very bad for you, not that this chair will help with that. It's part of the reason standing desks are becoming a thing and surprisingly it's not meme science.
That said it won't help overall and being sedentary for such long periods of time is definitely bad fr you, shame that playing while moving at least for PC games is a bitch, maybe with a controller you can setup a treadmill nearby and play your more casual games while jogging.

You should swap them out, I use a pillow personally and haven't swapped it in some time and it's pretty bad. Also it shouldn't be that bad unless you're farting on your blanket constantly or using it while nude which I sure hope you aren't doing.

The two bigger 'gaming chairs' are NEEDforSEATusa (just NEEDforSEAT if you're a euro) and DXRacer.
There are plenty of good office chairs but if you check out both of those seats you will see that the specs they bolster (steel frame, steel back, serious padding) is only comparable with VERY high end office chairs.
If it doesn't specify what the back is made of, that it's a steel frame (or similar) then you can almost guarantee it is trash internally and I would suggest if it's over $200 skip it and just get the needforseat chair or if you're all about brand, go for the dxracer.
They are almost copies of each other and the dx racer is at least $100 more (after counting shipping for both; needforseat is more expensive shipping) but dxracer tends to do endorsement seats more often.
A comfy office chair, no need for those overpriced gaming chairs.

$500-600 is probably my sweet spot. Might go higher since I don't feel like waiting out too long, as my current cheap ass high-back is falling apart.
Current plan is to try to score a good office one cheaper on Craigslist in the new year, but these racer ones have been somewhat tempting in the meantime. Ugly as sin, but looks like a cheaper option with a headrest compared to some of the other ones I've been looking at.

It's really, really ridiculously good feeling. Make sure you get a chair thats measured to your size. Formula are way skinnier than the Iron, so they'd poke at your ribs. Lumbar support is out of this world.

You can either go for a dxracer if you want one of those or you can go for a mid-end office chair, there are a few around that point, the main point you are looking for are:
1)If you MUST have a swivel: Steel frame.
This ensure something that won't break easily on you and avoids you dying a horrific death or breaking your fucking neck and being paralyzed temporarily or for life
1a) If not a swivel a sturdy wood frame is acceptable.
2)the filling used is absolutely important as shit, probably the second most important part, the steel frame decides life and death, the filling decides comfort and if you can stand long hours. Cheap filling will not conform well, memory foam is obviously best but also will be super expensive, probably not in your price range.
3)Ergonomics, goes with the filling, important if you game for long hours.
If you're a PC gamer and spend 8 hours in your chair daily, look to getting similar quality to your mattress.

You can find videos and pictures of both deconstructed and their internal schema is the same. NeedforSEAT also keeps better records of exact specifications for their seat, how important that is, is for you to decide.
Any of their similar models (Weight, width, height) you will find $100-200 cheaper from needforseat. Dxracer charges a LOT for the brand name.
