If modding's a concern that's a fair point. I find Dragonborns invasion of the lovecraftian god of forbidden knowledge a lot better than vampires versus the sun. I guess it depends on the person though.
Dead Island is an unpolished, unfinished game, that would have actually been better off if they had just left it as a zombie killing sandbox game. As such, you're money would be better spent on almost any other zombie killing game. A genre oversaturated with games now.
Papers, please is very short and has little replay value. Even if you find the core gameplay fun, as I did, once you take the 3 hours needed to beat it you probably won't find a reason to return to it. In terms of gameplay time to dollar other games on your wishlist should do you better. Though I suppose you could always buy Papers,Please and then refund it once you beat it.

I wasn't hugely impressed with Nobunaga's Ambition.
It's like Total War Shogun, but not as fun, but way cooler from a historical perspective. Only worthwhile if you're a Sengoku Jidai nerd, imo.

Spacechem like the other games from Zachthronics is too much for me, but is amazing how it pushes the player creativity, you have to build a solution, and there multiple ways to do it, this is the best type of puzzle there is, but it gets a bit insane.

More of a pretentious art project with video game elements sprinkled in than a video game. All the characters, AI programs, are rendered as various colored blocks with different jump heights, sizes, and abilities.
The music is like beavis on keyboard. I honestly thought the game was bugged and was playing two unrelated songs at once, thus the ear-assaulting cacaphony. Any enunciation the singular British-sounding VA makes sounds incredibly forced. He should have stayed calm throughout like the Stanley Parable guy.
Everything is blocks so they had to employ dynamic shadows and light fixtures to liven the movement.
A lot of people on my friends list own this game so I thought I'd give it a try. I'm here to save you from buying a game you won't like.
