Is this art?
>>
I guess so. It's kind of impressive photoshopping. I almost couldn't tell if it was a person.
>>
Not gonna lie, considering it was made by a 9-year-old it's pretty impressive, content aside.

Not sure why it's all framed and shit, though.
>>
>>321216925
sure
>>

Probably a student gallery. Grade school kids submit pictures that get displayed at a college gallery as a community thing.
>>
>>321216925

>Everyone saying 9 years old

Where does it say that? This is exhibit 9, not his age. Its elementary/primary school which extends up to high school, so the kids probably 16-17. which isnt very impressive, thats basic photo editing 101.
>>
>>321220384
The 9 literally says 'age' in it, dingus

What?
It says "age" in the 9.
Elementary schools do not have 16-17 year olds. You don't exist in elementary school past 11, unless you got held back.

As an assistant professor at university, let me just say the difficulty of school is completely overblown. Especially college.

All professors want you to pass the class and succeed. All you have to do is put in the fucking effort and make it apparent that you care. It's not that hard.
Hell, I guarantee if you're in college, you can email your professor and say "I am having difficulty with (assignment). Here is what I have. Is this alright? How can I do better?" And your professor will directly tell you what you need to do to get an A in the class.

Kids are just stupid as fuck and don't put effort into their school work.

Watching too many Earthquake movies guy. I live near the San andreas, and survived the 93 quake in Northridge. House was standing perfectly firm, worst that happened was several books fell off the bookcase.

See over here we're prepared for quakes, walls are build thick, roofs are lightweight and won't cave in, and our foundations roll in place to counter balance the shaking.

Plus any good house is strapped down.

Now if a Tornado came, we'd be fucked. But the rockies prevent that from ever happening, so we're good.

Art school is horseshit. Last time I went to a showing for a school in my city, there was shit like literal clip art with deviantart tier hentai all framed up on display, trying to be sold for hundreds of dollars. I feel bad for the parents of these kids who spend tens of thousands of dollars per semester for that, and then also have to buy their kids' work because no one else will.
>>
>>321216925

Yes, it is.

Not only is it technically sound but it perfectly demonstrates his feelings on the piece. He is at his most comfortable in the minecraft world so he literally put himself in there.

I bet most kids his age when asked to do a self portrait would just literally draw themselves, while at the same time expressing nothing about who they are.

It may be an unintentional statement on the current state of education and childhood in the US.

In this day and age, children have the technological resources to escape from the enormous pressure of an education system that demands far too much, and also suppresses a boy's natural need to play rough and actively.

Rather than discover the beauty and opportunity of the natural world through a school system which encourages him to partake in it through a childhood wonder, the burden had lead him to retreat from it. With access to excessive technology, this provided him both a means of escapism and play through a digital substitution of the great outdoors, and a a creative outlet for his frustration and misguided wonder.

What results is becoming adept in a computer environment which he has complete control over, and immersed deeply with his own imagination. He has combined these into an expression of what and where he truly feels at peace, and the domain where he will grow and thrive if supported.

You realize you don't even have to pay attention in school right? You just need common sense. I slept or wagged half my classes and still came out dux of my high school.

Wow, this actually sounds really reasonable. Are you pulling my nuts here or have you actually taken some higher learning classes in the field of psychology?

I took A-level Psychology in the UK, got a B grade.
I also emphasise with what this kid is doing, I feel like I grew up much the same way, maybe he's got Aspergers too.

Also now that I think about it, the kid forgot to put any tools on his hotbar, even though he's dual-wielding a diamond sword and a torch.

Elementary art school teacher here.

Yes.

Even if his mom did that editing for him, it's a good start to digital art. Far beyond any of our generations (i'm 24) had - and half of our fuck ups want to WORK FOR VIDEO GAMES

but he isn't the player, just an npc.
Maybe that's a cue too? like he feels that he isn't the master of his own destiny?

I hope you never procreate, for the sake of your kids.

Eh, maybe. Although Minecraft does support third person viewpoints for screenshot purposes.

All you do in the PC version is press F5, to toggle between first person, and third person from either the front or back. Dunno if the mobile version would support this.

Nice try, faggot.

I was looking for a more fitting picture but this one made me chuckle so I grabbed it instead.
