yes, and it even made it to the anime adaptation (stripped out of the dub, though, like 90% of the plot and character interaction)
only thing that didn't make it to the anime adaptation was the relationship between risomething and the teacher. oh, and the ending was different because movie 2 didn't exist in the manga. also, meiwhoever isn't in the manga, they invented her for the anime to act as a rival for li's affections.
the us dub is another story entirely, though. they mangled it so bad it's unrecognizable. evenfaggotswho actually watch dubs should avoid it.
