There are plenty of free games, Anon. I recommend either Forge or Manalink 3.0, which are actually both made by the same team. They both are single player games with AI, and they are both complete free.

If you want to play against other people buy Magic Online then build a pauper deck or a budget standard aristocrat deck using nantuko husk / grim haruspex / zulaport cutthroat
