Personally, I liked that they incorporated Swordmaster and Gunslinger moves into pre-existing movesets. The movesets are pretty nuts as a result.

Sunless Sea is great, but don't get it if you're looking for something exciting. Because it is not exciting.
It's got great atmosphere, pretty cool story, and solid exploration. But it takes a long time to get anywhere meaningful, the pace is slow, and it boils down to resource management.

Shadow of Mordor is repetitive and has a ultimate strategy where you can use a combo move to charge up your combo meter to do that one combo move infinitely in ever fight. Also the fights can get out of control really fast with captains calling more soldiers, which is fun at first but it can happen during a boss battle making the battle impossible to finish. Combat is satisfying but only if you are ok with an improved arkham city system with actual killing. I put in 20 hours before getting bored
Table top is only good if you have friends to play with, keep that in mind
DmC is a decent game but should not be part of the series at all, if you are a fan don't get it but even at that you should just get a better game in the series

I'm surprised people are still playing this. I've put 400 hours into it, although I've only touched multiplayer once with my brother. It was a ton of fun but I can't imagine other people online willing to play for hours a day over the span of a week or two until the game finally finishes. I mean, I'd love to but I'd imagine that organizing such a group would be a nightmare.
Anyway, I highly, highly recommend you get the expansions. Try the game out quickly and if it's something you think you can get into, then grab the expansions while they're on sale too. It makes an incredible difference in all areas of the game and vastly improves it from good to excellent. Too bad the AI is still bullshit.
