The racing missions were all worth it to watch that would-be-bull errol's sumg face smash into 50 tons of dark eco.

When making sharp turns mash the jump button of the bike.

This is coming from a faggot that got the gold times, once I learned that they were much easier.

Might actually go for the green scarf.

No problem anon, also while the jetboard is the fastest way to do the slums level, punching your way through the level is better and safer.

True.

Any tips for the turret on rails segment on hero mode?
>>
jesus christ jak 2 was awful. i had to force my way through that shit over the course of days

But Jak 3 is the best Mad Max game
>>
>>321111012
I skipped it using a glitch to get into Mar's Tomb early

Sorry anon, I can't help you with that one.
>>
>>321111012

Those were the coolest levels.
>>
I played through Jak & Daxter recently. I thought it was a pretty comfy platformer that looked really nice in HD from the PS3 remaster.

Should I bother with Jak 2? From what I've seen it's like a gimp version of R&C trying to be GTA.
>>
>>321111481
If you don't give a shit about story you should play Jak 3 first, and then if you enjoy that try Jak II out after.

I wholeheartedly enjoy these games, but I can understand someone not liking them.
>>
>>321111481
Skip Jak 2. It's horrendous.
Jak 3 is the best in the series
>>
>>321111864
>in the series

Can we just start considering Jak 2 and 3 as a separate series from Jak & Daxter?

>Jak 3 better than Jak 2

Seriously why
>>
>>321111864
Jak 3 has barely any platforming though, almost every mission is just shooting or using vehicles.

No. Because it's not. Jak 1-3 isn't even half the games.
>>
>>321111481
Personally 2 is my favorite.

They jump the shark during 3 mechanically in every way, and also plotwise.

2 is much more refined, and harder, but it's not broken.
>>
>>321112261
So there's Jak & Daxter

And then everything else. Because the series was butchered into something unrecognizable after Jak & Daxter.
>>
>>321112261
My biggest problem with Daxter is that getting all orbs is annoying as shit, because they had a habit of making you leave the level if you got to the end, and you have to go all the way back around just to try and look again.

But if you're not trying to 100% it, its a very good game, and one of the better PSP titles.

They change the series up so much with each iteration, you could be a purist for any one of them.
>>
>>321112658
>124%
wut
>>
>>321112964
You can get more orbs in the game then needed.

You only need 200 for all cheats, but there's 286.
>>
>>321113107
they could have at least rounded it out to like
120 or 130
>>
>>321112658
The look on Jak's face pretty much says it all for everything

I'll just have to memorise enemy formations or something.
>>
>>321112645
>L1, L2, R1, R2 are all CONSTANTLY NECESSARY
It's difficult purely in terms of dexterity.
>>
>>321113250
They probably made sure to put a bunch in just to make it easier to get 200
>>
>>321113776
i meant %
>>
>>321114028
When you get past 100% it's a bit meaningless anyway
>>
>>321113776
Seeing as there's some levels you can't go back to, and in turn you'll miss the orbs they hide there, it was a smart move to put so many in the game.

>you can miss orbs
Fuck don't remind me, I remember starting all over again for that.
>>
>>321114682
They learned their lesson for Jak 3 at least, none of the 600 orbs are misable, since you can go back to every area they're in, and you can even start up hero mode in that game to get another 600.
>>
>>321111481

Jak II's really good.
>>
>>321113635
You don't ever need to use the jump button, you don't use the front and back weapons all the time, and you can just double tap x to boost.
>>
>>321111481
Jak II is a lot more unforgiving. You can go through an entire level, die, and have to start from the very beginning. Checkpoints are very scarce.
>>
>>321112645
Agreed.
>>
>>321107274
If you took short cuts in the race, the AI would do the same thing.
>>
Is Jak II the most difficult 3D cartoon platformer out there? I hear nothing but complaints about it.
>>
Jak and Daxter: fun platform game, interesting stories and characters for the most part. really similar to banjo games where you have to find the "stars" by your wit with puzzles and specific areas. easy difficulty with some challenging spots

jak 2: A more mature game that changed how everything works, no longer soley a platform game, but a mission / story GTA type of game with it's own uniqueness. differs greatly from the original game. higher difficulty with several challenging / unforgiving spots

Jak 3: Very similar to Jak 2, mission based, but with a deeper story. Sandbox kind of game with a larger open world to mess in. less difficult and more forgiving than jak 2.

Does that about sum of the trilogy?

I think i prefered Jak 3 because it had the most to do. it also had hero mode and open world stuff so it had more replay ability
>>
>>321116175
Those whiny faggots just need to git gud
>>
>>321116175
It's the most unforgiving when it comes to checkpoints. The actual things you have to do aren't hard, but one death can mean starting from the very start of a level, making it more repetitive.
>>
>>321116368
>Jak 3: Very similar to Jak 2, mission based, but with a deeper story.
Higher stakes and bigger prophecies =/= deeper story

IMO Jak 2 was more fleshed out

3 was spread too thin.
>>
>>321117128
>3 was spread too thin.

That's what I was looking for, and exactly how I feel about Jak 3 thank you.
