I was so fucking excited for skells, but honestly it kind of feels like it ruined the combat, and that most of the game wasn't balanced for skells.
I only have one so far, so that could just be the problem, but man, I literally just spammed a stagger art and the bind over and over in a loop until every enemy died

Hit post-game, not exactly the most entertaining portion of the game, but it's still pretty fun.
My problem is that the quests are almost impossible to find unless you really spend time running around New LA, and there's still only a handful of them. I need something fun to break the Ares 90 grinding, and the Wrothian Chef quest gave me some laughsand a craving for curry god fucking damn am I hungry.Sequel better expand on the fun culture blend stuff, it beats the shit out of Xenoblade's non-Bana questlines.
Elma and Lin's are about maxed at this point, at least from just filling hearts perspective. At chapter 6 so can go do that and get my skells at any time, but I am worried about my other team mates and stabilizing my miranium and money incomes via probes. 40 hours in and still no skells. Soon my pretty, soon. I've never been one to say I am autistic but this game makes me OCD and autistic like woah

The Ma-non Ship gets more cluttered, less sameface when you get the Orpheans, Prone, Gorkwa dudes, and Wrothians immigrating in. The pizza puppies get better missions with the more xenos coming into NLA.Fuck though, we should've gotten a Ma-non as a teammate/playable character, they're so adorable and the Trigger Happy Figure is just great.

The game being based around a fully customizable 2-weapon Class system is really such a downgrade from XC, everything's based around the concept of humans trying to survive and all the characters reflect that. Eventually you will want to. The idea of maxing all the classes then finding amazing skill balances in the late game is amazing to me. The downside I have with going commando winged viper fmj first is the lack of burst some of the other classes possess when levelling them. I am about 10 class xp from being maxed on fmj. I have the first class below winged viper maxed. Will probably go and max the other one to have commando tree line complete. Going from dual guns and dual swords to sniper rifle and javelin was rough at first.

Javelin main here. I can't think of what works well with Javelin as far as synergy with ranged weapons go. I definitely want to go pure electric, so I'd need a ranged weapon that can be electric. My sights are on gatling guns (cuz aesthetics) or dual guns. How do these hold up with Javelin?

Use the sniper. Grab the skills that boost electric damage and deal 4 times damage for enemies inflicted with Shock. Arcing Horn>Trident Buster>After Burner can deal ridiculous damage. Throw in either Rajin or Ghost Sniper along with Eagle Eye and Hawkeye/Hairtrigger and start tearing new asshole open. Although I don't know if Hair Trigger effects ranged attacks as well or only melee.

I had the opposite feeling as you. I was digging the sniper but not the spears, at least until I started working with electric damage. To actually answer you with a little leg work I think you can make most combos work. Duel Guns for Primer and building TP, I've never touched the chain guns but they seem to like Thermal damage and Topple bullying over electric damage. I do know the psycolaunchers have an electric damage or two. And if you go with Assult rifle you can run the Shockjet rifle, 100 TP and 300~ damage iirc electric damage, which I played with the idea of using in tandem with the auto attack cool down skill AC has.

I'll be quite frank, I found the story very interesting, much more so than XC. The story had a lot more potential than XC. Sadly, Monoloth didn't have the budget, so they could only focused on gameplay.
But my god, on-foot combat is probably one of the best for RPGs I have ever played. It's not pure action, nor is it pure strategy. It's heavy on stats and strategy, but doesn't give you infinite time to make a decision.

You level the arms manufacturers by investing miranium and using their weapons and armor. You get miranium by placing mining probes at probe locations. Ideally you want to play mining probes on sites that have A or S production ratings. You place research probes on sites with A or S revenue ratings to increase your money income. Sites that have shitty ratings for production revenue or combat support are ripe for storage probes. The more storage probes you have the greater your miranium income is while out in Mira. Right now I am at 15K miranium and 40k money and I am not even at chapter 6 yet. I am out of storage probes or it would be higher. There are duplicator probes which duplicates whatever probe you have placed in essence doubling it's effectiveness.

Typically yes. It is a good strategic asset to get use to using. Especially when trying to pull a creature that is over water or wanting to focus on a large monsters specific limb. Later you can get your teammates to bind when in skills and such. Get use to using the battle menu

Typically not, bar exceptions. I know certain characters, like Irina die very fast. So I use the menu to force he to use range attacks. She draws aggro too much cuz she tends to go melee a lot. I also use it if I want to grind for drops, so I force the party to not go all out, and wait till I destroy the appendages first.

The only thing you have to do with the probes on Mira itself is installing them. Prone management is all done using the game pad FrontierNav afterwards. If you replace a probe you get that prove back. There was something else I forgot to mention but I can't remember what it is.

For the character you control the only way is with the targeting lock on. In the battle menu there is a concentrate fire option which has your entire team attack the limb or target you are attacking. Helpful for large monsters whose limbs have higher health pools

The game has started to become really fucking boring ever since i got my skell. Skell combat is fucking garbage compared to Ground Combat, no secondary CDs or cool synergies, basically just press everything the moment it comes off CD shit. So fucking bland. Why is this allowed? The problem is that you're pretty much forced to fight using your skells in certain chapters like the last part of chapter 9.

That can be interpreted in so many ways. XCX is very different from XC, but the gameplay is an upgraded version of XC.
Also you can't have a Takahashi game without mechs. Thankfully NX will be the console/handheld hybrid so it'll still be console.

Cauldros takes forever to run/swim to without a skell, is chock full of insanely high level enemies with huge aggro radii, and only has like, five quests that take you there before the story does. It literally is the game's fault.

Have you played Xenogears at all? Miang pretends to help humanity too, but she just wants the Kadomomy-made humans to become spare parts for Deus so it could get its biomass back. Its almost the same plot point in XC with the high entia transforming into Telethia, so I'm pretty certain that's going to happen at some point in this story since Takahashi loves that plot point so much.

You should equipjust wait until you're level 60 and your Arts are upgraded, the Rexoskell at the mission end is Gwar as fuck and will rape you instantly in the first phase, it's even worse than the Vita. That having been said, I run a Duelist build, so Six Stars gear and the Unbreakable Sword from the weeb Wrothian on the Ma-non Ship really helped me through this mission, alongside Soul Voice + Offensive Stance boosted Blossom Dance & Backslash Knockoff.

Booster probes boost whatever probe is adjacent to it. I.e. if you have a booster probes next to a storage probe, your miranium cap goes up. Same for research and mining probes

Partisan Eagle has like 3 combo able melee moves. Get the skill the buffs electric damage and rank it up to max, then equip yourself an eletric damage Javalin.
If you wanna be that class at endgame I'd reccomend getting Dualist maxed so you can go Javlin/Assault rifle. The AR has a couple of gunnery skills that combo off of melee arts.

The arte description will tell you if it is comboable in the far left pane of the skill description for example "In Melee combo: Damage Up." If you use that arte right after a melee arte it'll count as a combo and get he bonus damage.

Hi peoples I started the game and I'm level 48 righy now and on chapter 12. I never did too many affinity quests before only the required ones and maybe another 6 of the non required ones. Ive installed almost every data probe and ive done quite a good amount of gathering and slaying quests. Did I fuck up?
