I've come to see that Paper Jam is basically a massive filler game with fixed past assets because Nintendo wants all A team to focus on NX
But goddamn was it good filler

Paper Peach was ultimately superior in every regard
the only nagging feel i have is the fact that none of the paper characters turn their fucking backs

Paper Jam has been stated to be the best entry point into an M&L game
Try it, now if your anywhere outside US, or wait a month in US

They never do in the original games either. That's the point. They're 2D characters in a 3D world. And 2D characters just flip when you turn.

Seriously. It was cute in SSS when Bowser forgot his name, but in DT and now PJ Starlow's a straight-up cunt. Paper Toad gets a pass because Paper Luigi is actually pretty incompetent.

It was AlphaDream trying to point out that Luigi was overlooked. But as usual with them, they went overboard with it. In just the first location of Superstar Saga alone, there's at least four NPCs who point out Luigi is useless or 'Marios shadow'.
The problem is AlphaDream sucks at writing. And has to explain every joke in 20 lines of dialogue. So a joke that could have been funny was overdone in just the first game.

The writing in this game was fucking on point. And they seemed to give even less fucks about the 4th wall this time around.

Writing might be the best in the series, I snickered out loud quite a few times while playing. But maybe that's because fourth wall jokes always get me and this game is full of them.
