So, tell me people that bought a ps4, would you say that it was worth the price, and that it innovates as much as the ps3 did?
Because the jump from ps2 to ps3 was fucking insane, wireless controllers, motion control, online marketplace, the cell processor allowing for amazing tech feats at the time, and all sorts of crazy stuff.
I will totally go out and buy one right now if it comes anywhere close to that. Also, the library. Is it good yet?

I got one on launch since I simply knew a lot of games would come for it and I didn't buy a sony console since PS1. Getting all the PS3/Vita ports is very welcome for me, and I'm guessing many other 360 > PS4 switchers
I would honestly wait another year or until a slim version comes out
It's got many multiplats that you've probably already played and Bloodborne, and that's really it.
Remasters are cool, but they aren't really system sellers.
By next year on black friday, the PS4 will be cheap and most of 2016's games will be already out

I have nearly every console made, and this is the one I play on the most. I like the controller. I actually really like the "SHARE" button. I never thought I would use it, and I use it fucking constantly. If you don't have a PC that you are already playing games on I would suggest you get one ASAP, if you have a PC wait for next year. Street Fighter5 and Uncharted 4. Next year is going to be awesome for me.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it was innovative (I wouldn't say PS3 was innovative either but I still put the most time in it last gen by far and love the system).
It's only $300 so even if you already own a gaming rig and an Xbone or a Wii U, it's definitely worth picking up.
Some annoyances in terms of features (no appear offline, no name changing, no folders, etc) but overall it's an improvement over PS3 and is still a significantly better OS than Xbone or Wii U.
It has a ton of great exclusives coming out in 2016/2017. Many are on PC or are multiplatform, but also a great deal are not. Regardless, PS4 is still getting pretty much every relevant game coming out from here on out though (except XCOM2, which may receive a console port, who knows), and many of them are exclusive, so it's a great main platform or a great complementary platform.

It simply generally performs better than previous gen. Games nowadays more commonly run at 900p/1080p and 60fps than previous gen. That's pretty much it. Then you have improvements in interface and usability
It'll also get VR next year, that seems to be what spikes your interest.
Everything that matters is games, I don't see why would should be worried over "innovation".
I did get that fresh feeling of starting over and being on a new gen when I jumped from 360 to PS4, but I can't guess what you'll feel.
Its not really innovative and the only game I can recommend at the moment is Bloodborne but 2016 looks like a great year for the system.

I enjoy gimmicks when they're done right, like the motion control being used for the camera in noby noby boy, or the wireless controllers allowing me to not worry about a cord or distance from my console. Ps move was stupid though. Vr looks alright but I think pc will have the best vr considering porn, and that arcade vr game thing.

No. It's a souped up PS3. There's only a handful of new features and the performance jump is marginal compared to previous generations. The lack of backwards compatibility was foreseeable given how much PS3 hardware costs but one still can't help but be disappointed considering bc has been a selling point of every sony console until now.. at least they're going to have some PS3 titles you can download in the near future

It's pretty good. Not that many exclusives as of now but the ones it does have are really good and there's a lot more on the horizon.

I'd recommend it There's a few quibbles some anons have mentioned that might be annoying (such as the dumb interface), but overall it's a good console. It's got some great exclusives and multiplats are best on PS4. Unless there's some nintendo exclusive you really want or ALL your friends are on xbox live then it's certainly the best option of the three consoles.

You could with 360 and PS3 did it later, again playing catchup.
Even then that generation was inconsistent with some games not being available digitally.
And even then complete digital copies for majority of games haven't became a thing until THIS generation starting from Wii U and onward with Xbone and PS4 where every single game is available digitally.
Also it's a really stupid feature to tout as "innovation" of any sort. It's innovation in ripping of customers, sure it is.
