It has less to do with west vs east and more to do with PC vs console.
PC fats are very to please, and the games are often cheaper, so developers don't feel the need to work hard for their games. PC fats hate anything Japanese because the Japanese focus on the handheld and console market. This leaves western devs to make games for the PC.
Console bros are harder to please. Games are $60 and console bros tend to have more fulfilling lives and careers, so they have to pick and choose which games to play. This means the games are often larger and are overall better constructed.
