Superweapon, Infantry, and to a lesser extent Air Force general were obscenely overpowered. Laser, Nuclear, and Stealth were near-useless.stealth best

Not sure why but i've always lagged massively on the 8 player maps on every computer/OS after windows xp, even if my specs have tripled.

The pathfinding has enormous trouble on very large maps.
The fix is to play on smaller, or simpler maps.
Especially ones without bridges, those are massive mindfucks for the pathfinding code.

It was a fun game but the balance just didnt hold up in PvP at all. Rushing to the enemy was a must and the only way to avoid getting raped was boxing in the resource centre. I would give my left nut if they rebalanced the whole game and made the units feel less clunky.

Man, this thread gives me nostalgia. Me and my pal would play 20 minute no-rush games where we'd each try to build the best defenses and then try to crack them.
Massive tank rushes, artillery, super weapon strikes, sneak attacks. It was so much fun.
