Not only is it insanely difficult to replicate, but I really hope people actually saw this and were stupid enough to believe it and try it

Consoles have their place in being a somewhat reliable (forgetting the 360) and accessible cheap price / performance dedicated gaming machine. If you try and build this shit you will have a bad time. If you're going to build a PC get decent hardware
>>

A PC that can run games at console specs is inferior to the console it's trying to copy if they're both the same price. You can get a console + controler + 1-2 games for $350, which is a much better vaule proposition than a low budget PC with used parts and no peripherals.

Not only does COD specifically check and block for these things since forever, you'd get banned off Xbox Live within a day. You really think there hasn't been Mouse and Keyboard adaptors/controllers for online play since online FPS on consoles has existed.

Mining hasn't been viable for quite a bit, especially not with 280x level cards. That's also a tiny market; and there are still fucking 8800s on ebay. That's no implication on their survivability.
>>
Let's be real:
Games will ALWAYS be created with consoles in mind. They will be optimised for consoles. If that PC even lasts long enough to see a decline in quality, it definitely will see a decline.
I find it impressive that a build this cheap can run games at that quality, but it's literally nothing more than a novelty.

Used PCs are pretty good, built a second machine with a q6600 + 560 ti for less than 150$, shit runs game pretty nicely too.

Getting BTFO? How exactly? The build already exceeds the cost of a consoles (a new console at that, compared to a PC) so let's just add that $16 to the additional total, ok kiddo? Now it's $366. I wonder what we'd do about games that practically require a controller, bet we're not considering that in the budget either, right? But let's just say it runs Dark Souls better than consoles on a M+K anyway, because FPS and res are all that matter.

Let's also not consider the fact that used parts are not a set price and this build would be impossible for most people to replicate. Let's also consider that buying each of these parts for the best price would take time, unless you're willing to spend more for parts which would defeat the purpose. Can literally go out and pick up a PS4 tomorrow.
>>
>>320967216

I used to use a different brand, but the same device on my PS4 for Advanced Warfare. Consistently came top of the leaderboard, so much so that I sold it on Ebay because kb+m + console aim assist = ultra babby mode.

If CoD is "scanning" for these things like you claim, they're doing a terrible job. Also nothing in Xbox or Playstations usage agreements forbid the use of these devices.

I do, but its a gaming PC that I built like 4+ years ago.
Though I found out that I really didn't need to upgrade since I played mostly on imported console/handheld with the exception of VNs and multiplayer games to play with friends(League, Doto, Hearthstone, Killing Floor, etc)

new low leve API based on mantle, allows for more drawcalls and gives all the power to the devs and not card vendors.
Aside from drawcalls and lower CPU overhead, meaning more shit on screen it also enables some interesting things like combining GPUs from different manufacturers, sharing VRAM pools, making 2 4gb cards work as 1 8gb card, allows for split screen rendering at the same time, meaning better FPS with no stuttering, basically multi GPU solution might become viable. Also improves parralelization, game will use all CPU threads you have.
There are some other interesting tricks, like using your iGPU to help your beefy dGPU. Devs trying out new ways to use it as we speak.

Will never understand why PC gamers try and build these 'console killer' machines. Who are they trying to convince? Most people who get a console get one because they want a console.

And you get what you pay for, spend an extra few hundred bucks and get a better machine. That's how the market works. PCs are top-of-the-range when it comes to gaming so why should price compromise? It's like if Bugatti started making really shitty quality Veyrons just to appeal to the wider market.

GCN cards just keep on giving. DX12 will improve them even more, because AMD DX11 drivers are kinda shit and GCN doesn't bound well with DX11 serial nature.

does it really matter if poorfags stick to console

I mean, obviously they're stupid if they think a console experience is cheaper. Since they're stupid, they're poor too, which is why they're stupid and why they're poor and so on. Let them waste what little money they have and be stupid.

telling a poor dumb console gamer that PC gaming is cheaper is like telling a chronic gambler that lotto tickets are a waste of money. There's no convincing them, stop trying. >Previous consoles had development mastery. Consoles now are just x86.
That's not even true, both consoles utilize low-level graphics APIs that developers haven't even scratched the surface of, and the PS4 in particular has a lot of potential in the form of asynchronous shading and compute.
>>
>>320983232
>both consoles utilize low-level graphics APIs that developers haven't even scratched the surface of
That's not how APIs work.
That's also a moot point for a few reasons:
>PS4 mainly makes use of GNMX, which is a high-level API used mainly for multiplats
>XB1 uses DX11.1 and newer games use DX12, but the performance gains are minimal at best
>DX12, Vulkan, and Mantle are all low-level APIs that are being popularized on PC

Also, asynchronous compute is a meme.
>>
>>320983232
>PS4 in particular has a lot of potential in the form of asynchronous shading and compute.
both consoles have AMD CPU and GPU. No reason to select PS4 in particullar. If anything Xbone EDRAM might do something, but I doubt it.
>>
>>320983574
Most developers will more over fully to GNM as they moved over to LibGCM on the PS3 a few years into its life.

>Also, asynchronous compute is a meme.
It's only a meme on the PC since most PC gamers don't have GPUs that support it and up until Windows 10 didn't have graphics APIs that supported it.
>>
>>320983792
>No reason to select PS4 in particullar.
PS4 has 4x the ACE count of the Xbox One, and 50% more shaders.

They probably will, but only because it'll be easier to develop GNM/DX12/Vulkan versions of games instead of using high-level APIs like DX11 and GNMX.
>It's only a meme on the PC since most PC gamers don't have GPUs that support it
Bzzzt
It's a meme because it doesn't add much to performance.
For instance, Ashes of Singularity, a DX12 that takes full advantage of asynchronous compute, doesn't run much better on AMD GPUs than equivalent Nvidia GPUs (which lack the ACEs of AMD's GPUs).
The real reason AMD GPUs see such a boost from DX12 compared to DX11 is because AMD's DX11 drivers frankly aren't that great, especially with lower end CPUs.

"Console Killer" budget builds are not meant to be taken as a guide to someone building a pc. Let's go ahead and collectively admit that. It's just another form of who stroking about the objectively better hardware. We all know this. Anyone who has that small of a budget is just going to buy a console.

Why?
1. It's already assembled
2. You're going to have access to more modern titles especially exclusives.
3. Form factor
4. Troubleshooting any problems is simple sense there is no hardware variant. Everything is the same as other users.
5. There is no reason for others, other than pc users, to act elitist when comparing you to others; and that would still happen even if you did fall for the console killer budget pc meme

Most people who build a pc are going to spend more than $600 minimum. And regardless of what anyone says about how it's cheaper in the long run, because the parts perform better longer, will never admit that they buy on average 2 gpus a year. Rarely does someone use the same GPU for more than a couple of years. And if it isn't the GPU being changed more than occasionally, it's anything else. And it sucks because I'm the end, pc gets the short end of the stick when it comes to software support.

So yes, you can build a console killer for around the same price, and you can save money on games by waiting for Steam sales, but in the end time is money. And waiting for games is basically no different than not playing games. So you can build that pc, but if your budget is that strict you might as well not buy anything since you won't be playing anything for some time.
