Why is this surprising anyone ? FF VII & VIII was on PC. MGS 1 & 2 was on PC. RE 2 & 3 was on PC.

All these games were supposed to be multiplats, between PS4, X1, PC.
Sony pays devs to skip the Xbone version.
That's all there is to it.
Sony is on a crusade to literally kill Xbox brand.
This will ensure that Playstation will be the only home-console anyone will ever get.
(As Nintendo seems to be fine killing itself and Sony/Nintendo have different audiences anyway)

OP here. that's what I'm asking: WHY ?! I played metal gear 1 & 2 back in the day on PC. If anything MGS 4's "complete" exclusivity was more of a desperate move because the PS3 was in deep shit at the time. for me mg was always a PC (as well) franchise.

Its because PC isn't really considered a part of the console wars.
Xbox and PS (and WiiU lol) fight over their share of games.
You are supposed to own at least one of these and a PC. So when PS4 gets and exclusive then it can hold that over Xbox and WiiU, even if you can also get it on PC, its still something PS4 has over other consoles and thus can be used to push and market the system as worth more or better
