Every however many decades the world undergoes some big monster infestation. Common practice is to sacrifice a girl to whatever deity to appease them and save them from the monsters. Redhead girl is this generation's sacrifice. You play as her bodyguard, escorting her to her death.
So kind of like FFX.

A game shouldn't look like a turd in this day and age when the devs have a massive company behind them.
I say this as someone that played and enjoyed games like Deadly Premonition. A game doesn't have to look amazing, but it doesn't need to look like shit either. Nor should you make excuses for it looking poorly.
The game is most likely lacking in several other areas as well, so like a kickstarter game it will most likely just serve as a reminder of what games in the genre used to be like without actually behind on par.
Meaning you might as well just play older games you haven't played yet.
