The new hero is 15k for 2 weeks and then goes to 10k. The the shekel price doesn't change and is 10$/€. That's to make people spend real money on the new hero. Fix the matchmaking.
Rework some of the heroes talents, especially some of the supports. Some heroes are way too cookiecutter.
Make the objectives in some scenarios not so big deal, giving you a choice to ignore it and pursue something else.
Fix Rexxar and other Tier9 shit heroes.
Make early game deaths more costly.
Add more old characterers and make them more variable. People love to see the old dudes who are familar to you. Like why to give Lunara when you already have Cenarius? It gives the feel that hero developement is totally backwards.

Can't find a source for it right now, but I'm pretty sure Blizzard said they're planning on getting some D2 heroes in, somewhere down the line.
