Is this the best example of the Wave Effect on /v/?
>first few weeks, loved and enjoyed as a unique and earnest game that obviously had care put into it
>little more than a month later, shitposting central
Shit sucks. LISA had the same problem
>>320898363
Kind of. The only problem with your idea, is that the shitposting was being spurred by a couple of dedicated autists. Posting the same copy/pasted topics day after day relentlessly. And getting super hostile at everyone for no good reason.
You have them to blame for stirring so much shit. Notice how little Undertale talk is happening now. Because the autists finally got bored of making the same threads. So now we're back to the normal occasional, even-tempered threads.

:^)

Yes
Anyone who says otherwise is fooling themselves

>by a couple of dedicated autists
I doubt this. Everyone always claims samefag or just a few autists whenever someone says something they disagree with.
>>320899465
No, don't get me wrong. There were certainly a lot of different opinions by various individuals being expressed. But as far as starting each bait thread, with the same topic and same picture everyday. That was maybe a couple people.
And they were the ones that always responded with the same buzzwords and same talking points, in a super hostile manner. Just to try and rile people up. And it worked. They stirred, and everyone got caught up in their influence of bullshit.
Either Undertale or FNaF, ya. Prior to those it was probably Souls, but that wasn't quite the same. It's been getting worse over the years. I'm shocked it's still as bad for Undertale.
What actually happened is that we learned how derivative the game actually is, stealing lines and concepts from other games, etc.
Anything original (the art, for instance) is shit. I'm told even the music is ripped straight from Earthbound.
Can we all agree Undertale fans are the new MLP?
>>320900193
I love MLP and I hate Understale though
>>320900193
Oh, definitely.
There's so much bullshit in that fandom, even the shills on here who deny that Fox is a plagiarist don't try to downplay it.
>>320899308
>>320900193
>The stupid fucking fanbase makes the game bad
>>320899982
>A guy referencing a game he likes is ripping off
>One new version of an old song means the whole soundtrack is stolen
How do you live with Autism this advanced?
>>320899982
The music is not ripped straight from EarthBound, and a few lines of dialogue do not make the game a complete ripoff, nor do a few aesthetic motifs.
Have you ever played EarthBound?
The fanbase is absolutely moronic, though. I loved the game myself, but it's just not the sort of thing you can get a whole lot out of because the plot is so minimalist. It's the sort of thing you look at and say, "oh, that's cool" and then move on. It's not some fucking TV show or something
>>320899982
>I'm told even the music is ripped straight from Earthbound.
You were told wrong
Blame SJW's and goats
>>320900193
No, it's not. The people agreeing with you are fucking morons.
Undertale has a long, long, LONG way to go until it reaches MLP status. MAYBE I could see it getting the same amount of popularity as FNAF in the future, but since no plans of a second game are in a making I highly doubt that even THAT will happen.
>>320901896
*in the making
>>320901896
the difference is UT has little sequel potential, and it takes like three hours to get through. That's why it'll never reach that level. And that's a good thing.
>>320902298
That's right.
>>320901698
No mercy for goatse
