Didn't use enough Arcane space magic. Getting her down to half health pretty much meaned getting her down 75% because she just sits there and makes that echo noise, and overall a really unchallenging boss if fought with arcane magic.
As the only actual great one you fight she was pretty lame other then appearence wise.
The music, area and aethetics of the boss were fantastic.

Where as if you choose to be a fatroller by grabbing the elite armor Capra is easy as hell, trying to survive moonlight is difficult if you aren't fast.
Of course, changing armor before a fight is a thing in dark souls.

Moon presence is skeltal, Mergo is castlevania, and Orpan is a dude, these are all same level great ones as like Rom. Ebrietas was an actual great one from their world/realm.

we're specifically told Rom isn't a great one because she drops Kin Coldblood instead of Great one Coldblood. Moon Presence is definitely an old one though. It's actually debatable whether Ebrietas is an old one and not just Kin.

The forest area is technically easier to find than the door to lower undead berg. In my first run I got lost and went into the forest first, found the elite set and got wrecked by moonlight.
After beating it while naked I finally found capra and kicked his shit in.
Miyazaki must have known the forest was easier to find and also gave the elite armor, which gives enough poise to destroy Capra's dog gimmick.
So moonlight is skillfully placed to fuck up anyone who goes in thinking they can survive the boss with their shiny new elite set.
At that point in the game there is very little magic resist gear, so your best asset is speed.

You can be turned into a great one like Rom, Mergo, Orphan and Moon Presence.
Moon presence is just the hunter that precides over the hunt over an endless cycle.

Out of the ones you mentioned, Rom is the only Kin, the others are Great Ones. Ebrietas is likely to be Kin though, it's probable she was the Pthumerian version of Rom.

It would have been more enjoyable if he went through his form change at 50% or so instead of waiting for his shields to be cut off. It's interesting that it wasn't caught during testing.

This is the entirety of OR/AS and X/Y and it disappoints me gravely.
I mean yes there's the battle tower-equivalent shit in every game but I want the main game to have a memorable fight again.
I remember seeing all these casual filter threads with FF7 bosses in them but I'm breezing pretty good through the game. I've had more trouble with Persona 2.
