I always thought it was funny that Eirika has higher availability even in Ephraim mode. If that doesn't tell you who the real lord of FE8 is, I don't know what.

Ephraim sucked when I played through the game. Hardly any defense, Eirika was excellent in the swordmaster role.

I never understood why people thought Hector was overpowered when he's not even good in his own game. Only thing that helps him stand out is availability and being an early game tank.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I like tanks. That and the fact that at any given point in a FE game my units will be woefully underleveled, so promoting late isn't a problem.

You could argue it is the best weapon type in FE7 and 8 but that doesn't really save Hector's low skill, speed, and movement.
