My PS3 slim just died half way through Yakuza 5 I'm raging hard right now.
Do any of you have super slims? Do you have any issues with them?
I've had issues with second hand slims before. One overheated and would shut down constantly and this one which the fan has decided to just fuck up on. Now I'm wondering if I should just go for a super slim since they're newer and are less likely to have issues from age.
I won't be buying new though I could buy a ps4 for the price of a new super slim £175 for a 12gb and £250 for a 500gb that's ridiculous.

have you tried opening the thing to see whats the condition of the thermal paste?
also there is that function you can access that will make the fan go into overdrive for some seconds which might help

Got mine on XMas 2012, and I play it for 10+ hours at a time, and it still works.
Been playing Yakuza 5 non-stop with no troubles.
Buying a console second-hand is just asking for trouble.

That PS3 super slim in the OP is literally 375 dollars, which is 75 dollars more than people in the states pay for a new PS4 and 1 or 3 games (depending on if they get the uncharted bundle or a different bundle).
