DLC is as bad as the main game.
Gank squads with enemies that have excessive amount of hp and can't be staggered everywhere, rehashed bosses, and bullshit areas that you have to suffer through just to fight a boss (Sir Alone/Blue Smelter/Frigid Outskirts).
Their only redeeming factor is the level design.

Soul Memory was a mistake, but the arena (where good people actually fight) is SL based matchmaking. Invasions happen plenty in NG+.

Gank squads are going to be shit no matter what. I liked the additional phantom limit, It was fun fighting a retard buffed Fume Knight in NG+ with bonus hp from 4 phantoms.

DS2 fell into a trap, the whole point of DS1-2-3 is that Dark souls 1 shows the start of the cycle, Dark souls 2 shows that the Cycle continues for a long time, and Dark souls 3 shows the breaking of the cycle, so DS2 just feels like a rehash in terms of lore.

Outside of wallghosts in the undead crypt I can't think of any truly cheap bullshit.

Frigid outskirts are easy with a big weapon

The network test lighting not being added was bullshit. Still not sure why, because there are some areas where the dynamic shadows look really nice when they actually show up.


The problem with DS2 mechanically is that for some reason during a roll, your hitbox stays in the same place you were standing before you rolled, until you are ~75% through the roll.

This means in order to actually dodge things with the roll you need the I-Frames from AGI/ADP.

This also means that if you have the stats, you can make yourself a tanky motherfucker and still have perfect rolls, instead of having to limit yourself.

I felt that for the most part the weapons felt faster and more fun to control than DS1, and PvP having hitconfirm on the attackers side and dodge on the defenders side was a lot better, but it has a few problems with spears and rapiers being able to hit you no matter if you roll out of the attack or not because it can hit twice before you can roll twice. The problem with high level pvp though is that because rolling is so easy, you need a weapon that can catch rolls, either offhand or to switch to, and literally no big weapon falls into that category. I still managed to get to R3 in BoB with FUGS 536-36 though. so the big weapons aren't that shit.

Its actually a rebalance. Some area have lesser gank, while most of the time for others have a mechanic attached to them that make them easy to be dealt with

DaS2 actually have more effort put into its lore with the exposition though the game as well as more explanation on loose end.
DaS for example, dump the majority of it 'lore' in the opening vid.

Weapon balance was the best in DS2, there's a lot stuff you can do and get away with. Too bad for soul memory fucking the game up, and having to dump points into getting agi up to get the super roll back.

I have played all Souls games and Bloodborne, finished all of them at least 4 times, except DeS which I finished just once.

I prefer DaS2 because the gameplay is more tactical. In bloodborne everything is too fast, healing, stamina recovery, dodging, attacking,etc. This not only makes the game more spammy and less accurate ( I have done countless mistakes in bloodborne, just like healing in the wrong moment but since healing is so fast it doesn't matter). Bloodborne is a very forgiving game and it is only hard when it decides to give enemies a buttload of HP or when it OHKOs you (chalice dungeons).

Also bloodborne has way less content than the other games. The DLC kinda fixed that though.
Still, the PvP is just not fun in bloodborne, it's garbage, and NG+ scaling is terrible. Everything takes a tons of hits to kill.

What bloodborne does better than every souls game is level design, atmosphere, lore, etc. But it's not as fun or replayable as the other games, not even close.

Any r1 mashing retard is going to be cockblocked in pvp by people who know how to use weapon hyperarmor.
Meanwhile entire DS2 meta is built around abusing WR attacks of fast weapons with spinning aimed to glitch the netcode and make startup of a running attack less obvious.

Not to mention that DS2 pvp is nowhere near as visually impressive as BB with its weird weapons with movesets that actually feel powerful and unique.

Rat covenant? laughably dead because everyone firgued out those were optional areas you can easily bypass.

I actually like soul memory, it makes gank squads a thing of the past and lets people level their characters as they wish without having to worry about being effectively locked out of PVP content.

It's not a perfect mechanic, but it does far more good then bad for me.
