>Console starts making a loud ass chainsaw noise.
Never should of took a XBone.
>console fan too loud
>kick it
>it gets louder
>>320822289
>should of
Kill yourself.
>>320822321
back in my days that always fixed the VCR
what the fuck is wrong with the xbone brand
>>320822172
>It never stops.
What is my old original white 360.
I went through about 3 of them then got a fat Ps3 instead.
>Dreamcast becomes a playable character in sega's mario kart clone
>mfw the disc eating sound plays when you hit a wall
>playing RDR on my ps3
Holy fuck, not even my ref 980 at 80% fan with the case open is that loud
never heard any of my consoles make noise
friend often complains about his noisy ps3 and ps4 though, mines never did anything I can hear unless I get real close to listen -- not sure if the blu-ray drive is noisy on PS4, I never used it (digital only)
never had a 360 though
>>320822172
>Console starts making a scratching noise when you put the disc in
>It's normal and happens every time
>>320822602
Or maybe you cant hear it
>play hardware intensive game
>take off headphones for a minute
>hear your fans howl as they try to save your hardware
>next moment your screen turns black and your computer makes a weird noise
>>320822650
it's always sub 17-18C in my room because of AC, maybe the fans just aren't speeding up
>>320822660
Most modern GPUs go up to 95c without issue
>>320822705
I was mostly referring to the ps3, the bluray is loud as all fucking fuck
>>320822730
it's a good way to reduce their lifetime though, unless they're never cooling (it's the heating+cooling that ends up breaking things)
>wear headset
>have separate fan aimed at me
>can't if loud fan noise is the fan or my computer/console late at night
>>320822784
it's pretty quiet for me, maybe it's just the model I've had (one of them ylod'ed)
>Be 14
>Computer is getting slow
>Being stupid I think the dust is slowing it down and not all the bullshit I saved on it
>Try to blow the dust at the back of the PSU and around the dust panels
>See a little switch on my PSU near the power switch, no fucking idea what it does
>Flick the switch, computer makes a horrible pop sound and I get a face full of metallic dust
>Wake up in hospital with sore as fuck lungs and a broken PC
Thanks Microsoft
>>320822660
>hardware fans screaming
>two box fans screaming
>running at 115c
I FUCKING LOVE VIDEOGAMES
>>320822880
dust actually can cause slowdowns with some hardware
some will just stop when they're too hot, while some others auto-regulate not reduce heating, and a handful will keep going until your house is on fire
>>320822796
Really?
Thanks for letting me know because I always capped my GPU to 50% in Afterburner and just let it like that after playing until it cooled off
Gonna let it cool down in auto from now instead
>>320822860
Maybe, I keep my super slim on the desk where my PC is and if I play something hardware intensive off the bluray I gotta crank the volume up
>>320822975
to reduce*
on a related note, actually had a old athlon that never stopped -- it's the freaking smoke that gave me a warning sign that the fan had stopped running
>>320822289
>should of
triggered
>My ps3 verbally assaults me for playing it
>>320822880
What is that switch?
>>320822975
>and a handful will keep going until your house is on fire
There's still hardware that does this?
>>320823171
I'm pretty sure it was the voltage switch.
>>320823171
probably not "still" but a lot of pre-2004 hardware can be risky -- and maybe some other badly tested/setup things which you never know
mine was from 2003 and did that (dual 2GHz athlon MP, so it was pretty alright and used it as a server for years until it started emmitting smoke and never turned off until I pulled the plug)
bought a 360 at launch
i know this feeling too well

Am I missing some kind of epic meme here?
>>320824271
not really, could care less about it
>>320824271
it's basically just autism for all intensive purposes
>>320824271
Truly u r a blessing in da skies
>>320824271
Yes, it's called grammar.
>>320824365
don't try nep, I know you're merely pretending
>enter a loading screen
>disc starts clacking, clicking. and swishing inside the console
>i-it's normal, r-right?
also, I still remember the first time I turned on a 360
>>320823171
That little 120/230V switch, I guess. If the voltage of the mains is 230V and the PSU is switched to 120V it goes boom
>AMD Phenom stock-fans
>lift console while the disc is inside
>VHRRRZZZTRHTHZZZ
>any small difference in fan speed, hard drive rhythm, or general pc noises makes you anxious
Help me vee
>miss out the whole soundtrack of Deus Ex: Human Revolution because the cpu fan is so goddamn loud
>all these console things that I never experienced since a normal disc drive in a desktop computer is not built with duct tape, wood splinters and crossed fingers
I don't know if I should feel bad or laugh.
Even some of my oldest game CDs (and CD players) work perfectly fine after 15+ years of use (and abuse).

>Top PC fan is rattling in it's housing
>My fix is smacking it until it shuts up
I've become an abusive owner
>>320829267
that's what I did for a while as well, for a lot of different fans
unfortunately it eventually stopped yielding results, either it's permanent noisy or the fan just stops
