the direction your moving will determine the attack/animation. back+left gives you a diagonal upswing. left and right are self explanatory but it can be tricky learning how to 'fan' left to right without accidently moving left or right twice in a row which makes you do a faggy spinning animation that leaves you exposed. Saber staff is really about battering them down with speed and aggression but being mindless about it will get you killed.
I barely use the button-combination attacks (katas, etc) after having them get me killed in multiplayer all the time

Yeah, I know you do different swings depending on the direction you're moving. It just seems like the saber staff isn't as responsive as the single saber. Like, I can't just do one quick attack to kill one enemy, then reset myself and quickly slash another one - the first attack either leads directly into a big flourish or you stop and take a long time to be ready to swing again. It kind of feels like the very first attack never hits anything because its range is too short, which is pretty ironic considering how big the thing is.

The star wars audience seems to love it. It felt like they recycled the first trilogy to trigger nostalgic moments. Honestly it isn't a horrible movie, but that's it. They put a lot of money and energy in a simplistic and exaggerated movie. The hated prequels are better
