I just don't really like first person mele games. I mean... in Primal's defense... Far Cry 3 and 4 were basically about throwing rocks and using the bow as much as possible.
But I still like the idea of just running in with the guns and shooting the place up. I'm hoping and praying for some sort of "lol aliens" or "lol time traveling mercenaries" twist so that it will be an actual shooting game.

I thought the monkey mutants were ok because they switched up combat right at the point when you were starting to get really good at it. You had to rethink every encounter after the first mutants arrived because even the low-tier ones would chew you right the fuck up if you didn't know how to approach them.
FC2 was fun for a day or two, but I never finished it because all the missions were the same. I had fun with FC3 for about 7 hours before I realized it was a "theme park" style game with missions just as repetitive as 2's, but with the added chore of being grindy as well. I played 4 at a friend's house and it was exactly the same as 3 except with a worse map.

Makes sense. I guess we just differ cause I liked FC3 and 4 and just messing around on the bases and trying different approaches. 4 wasn't as good as 3 in terms of story, but I felt like it had more features than 3 so it still remains compelling for people who liked 3.
I need to keep an open mind about 4. But to me it feels like they messed with a good thing if they got rid of the guns. Again, I'm hoping they are keeping the guns a secret or something, though I realize that's unlikely.
fc3 was pretty good, mainly cos vaas was a great villain. and the drug scenes were cool
