TES and neverwinter nights back when it was alive. You know why? Because those went out of their way to make modding accessible. Practically no other game does this, which is why modding is dead for most games. DivOS was supposed to have mod support, but the toolkit was so clumsy people stopped caring. I hope they fix this with DivOS2.
Other than that, modding relies on a set few individuals passionate enough to make modding a thing. The whole dark souls CE wizardry was a fun little bunch, but didn't amount to all that much. At the very most I'm hoping that CE will allow us to be a little creative in DD.

Just beat the game a few days ago on PS3 with a Warrior/Assassin character.
What would be fun the play next: Full on Sniper or Mage/Sorcerer? I have yet to try magic and I'm assuming levitate can work as a height scaling mechanic(since double jump on assassin is amazing for exploring and getting to chests) mechanic.

You need to be a bit more versatile. If you only cast high level spells one after the other you're going to get bored from waiting for your cast bar to fill and getting interrupted every other attempt. Take a few fast casting spells with you and learn to use the regular magic bolt attack more flexibly, then it's a matter of finding openings and choosing the correct spell to match the time you're allowed to cast and to match the enemy's vulnerabilities. You learn this if you stick with magic classes all the way, swapping between melee/range and magic might be a little jarring.

There's an optional boss whose HP bar is Server Side
You go to the area where the boss is, and you summon it. Then you have 7~10 minutes to do all the damage you can, when the time is up, he leaves. If another anon goes to the boss arena, he will spawn with the health you left it with.
When he dies, he has a "Grace" period where everyone who summons it has a chance of killing him, since he spawns with very low HP.
Every time he dies, he re-spawns later (no idea how long it takes) with more HP than before.
You can kill it offline without a time limit and static HP if you really want to, but killing it online gives you special equipment that was the best in Vanilla DD. Now with the DA expansion, it's not worth the trouble, it's more for bragging rights.

Get some pre 100 Ranger levels in there just for the stamina, and the rest sorcerer.
If you absolutely want to play Magick Archer before lvl200 you should only do so up to lvl 100 and then switch to sorcerer again.
For pawn I went with a fighter/warrior with scather/pioneer to play tank since it's much easier to find decent healers in the rift.

Bow and shield are the same slot, sword and dagger are the same slot, and skills can only be changed at an inn. It'd be far to cumbersome to try and use all four.
Bearing that in mind, I did bow and sword my first run, and had a blast.
I wish I never read up about stat growth. I'm sure you can "have fun" and enjoy the game if you play however you want, but I'm kind of a min/maxer. If I KNOW I'm gimping myself by not playing a specific way, it gets under my skin fast and spoils my enjoyment. Fuck. I also read you could end up having problems with the BBI addon if you play "just whatever you want"

You can still equip skills for weapons you are not using at the moment. It's entirely feasible to carry all 4 weapons and switch between them in the field, and in fact i found it required in Bitterbutt Isle.

you can swap to another weapon-set by going to the menu. Using a sword as an Assassin is still the coolest thing in my opinion. The counter-strike on the assassin skill-list is pretty great.

Official Dragon's Dogma Online Benchmark. Since both DDO and DD:DA use the same engine and similar assets, if you can run one, you can safely assume you can run the other one. Mega link because the original one is in moonrunes. If you get a score higher than 5k, you can run the game with no issues.
The original game ran like absolute in certain scenarios. Specifically, 2 vocations, Mystic Knight (Sword, big shield and magic capabilities) and Sorcerer (Big ass spells). By doing any big spell, the framerate would just die.
In every other scenario, with any other class or even the previously mentioned classes without the big spells, the game runs fine, and it was a lot of fun. So much that I've replayed it 5 times, and for most people this is the third time buying the game.
There are 9 classes, all of which can be accessed and used as soon as you hit the main city (this isn't even 10 hours into the game, and a regular playthrough can last up to 60). Every class is fun to play and there's plenty of variety on skills and abilities. It falls down to "how am I going to deal with this enemy using this class" pretty much.

No it's not, don't listen to the min/max autists, your stats are mainly gear dependant. I played from about 10-100 as a warrior, then switched to a magick archer and still tore shit up.
Gear and player skill are more important than arbitrary stat growth. Min/maxing involves playing through the game multiple times as a class you may not want to play, by that point there'll be nothing left to challenge you anyway.
Just play what you want, experiment with the classes and enjoy yourself. You'll never put yourself into a situation where you can't do BBI just because you fucked your stats.

Minmaxing in Dragon's Dogma requires you to play the same class for 200 levels for pathetic stat increases. And then you discover that in your quest for the best offensive stats in the game your stamina and health are dogshit so you can't even have fun. What's more you have 200+ of those stats when endgame weapons give you 1500.
Don't do it, the only maxing you need to do is getting augments from all the vocations which requires switching often and playing all the classes anyway.

Magic and Physical attack are taken care of for the most part by weapons. Your defenses, stamina, and HP are not. If you plan a red class pawn you need magic defense, blue class needs defense/HP like nothing else as their armor will NOT cover for low defense. Yellows need attack more than anything else.
