Oh. Going by >>320737150, it kinda sucks that they took all those enemies out, god knows why they did that. Having said that, there were parts of Ninja Gaiden II that could've done with lower enemy density, I remember one of the final levels had a corridor with about 100 ninjas and the framerate dropped to fucking nothing. The combat turned into bullet-time dynasty warriors and I thought my 360 was going to burst into flames.
Also, I don't see any real gore loss. There blood when you hit enemies, you can still cut them to pieces and execute them and so forth. Maybe it's toned down a bit? I can't tell. Maybe Sigma 2 Plus is slightly different.

Japan loved the game. Majority of it's reviews were in the 7's anyway. The ones at 3's are jokes that complain the game doesn't use the gamepad or that multiplayer has microtransactions.
Devil's Third multiplayer is more-bang-for-your-buck than splatoon. Gameplay wise, it's better. Customization wise, it's better. Weapon choice wise, it's better. It's better on all accounts than Splatoon.
Splatoon was announced at the same exact time Devil's Third was re-revealed to be a Wii U game.
Nintendo has a clear conflict of interest because they want their own IP to succeed, and if people widely knew there was a better multiplayer shooting game on the market then they would lose attention for Splatoon.
The dumb part about all this is that Nintendo owns publishing rights to Devil's Third regardless and they really had nothing to lose.
