Why doesn't Nintendo expore augmented reality more?
The thing has been present on the 3DS since launch but they barely gave it any use. Just Nintendogs and a ChibiRobo game I think.

It might be too demanding. The fishing game was really cool though, especially the easter eggs (or the weird stuff anyway) you could discover by placing the AR cards on specific colors.
I hope they keep the concept for their next system. With some more processing power to make it less jumpy it'd be pretty damn cool.

I wonder why they didn't end up making some kind of Amiibo equivalent with these things. Sakurai was the only one that went all out with AR cards. I think the 3DS Mario Party tried using it but I think it was laggy as shit.

The fishing game was my shit. I think there were a few more easter eggs that didn't require colors. I think I remember a Lakitu occasionally showing up and fishing with you.
They are still using AR, actually. Pic related.
Anyway, yeah, I really liked it too, but the app itself had so little content with no replay value.
Unfortunately, I doubt Nintendo will even keep it in the next handheld. Would be cool If they keep it and make the sequel, though.
