Just built my first rig. Does everyone play their games borderless windowed or in fullscreen?
Is there even a big difference when it comes to performance?
What does /v/ think of catgirls?
I use borderless windowed all the time because I have two monitors. Borderless windowed lets me click around on it without minimizing the game on main monitor. If you only have one monitor there's no point in going borderless windowed.
Depending on the game you may get worse performance in borderless windowed.

I use one monitor myself. Experiment with both - some games can't properly be alt-tabbed without borderless windowed, or they simply run smoother (read: don't have to reload everything on-screen after alt-tab) without being fullscreen.

As long as your CPU isn't slower than a snail you should be fine going windowed.
Hijack time. Anyone know a good vesa stand that can rotate with a 29" IPS? I want to be able to go vertical and horizontal. What would be awesome is if a screen was able to detect its orientation and switch automatically.

Some games just fuck up completely when you alt-tab them so fake fullscreen is a must for those. If it doesn't have fake fullscreen you just use gamecompanion to do that shit. Fucking Oblivion is the worst offender of this because once I'm in the game I can't change the volume on my computer using the media keys on my keyboard, so if I alt-tab out to change it manually Oblivion instantly crashes.

Fullscreen is always best for performance
It also looks the best, its basically the same experience you'd get with a console. Only thing I dont like about fullscreen is that every pc game dev ever is fucking retarded and will pause your shit/unfocus to desktop/etc the moment you click on another screen

I got two monitors. I always roll along Borderless Windowed if there's a cursor constraint option. I don't notice any performance hits.

depends on the game, for mmos or games that are not mouse dependant I use borderless so I can tab with no problems, but for everything else,fullscreen
