It doesn't have the same gameplay, story, world, concept or lore. It's the character design and that's it (excluding the elements that are common to most Plat games) and it isn't even a motif that Platinum invented. You might as well say Okami is a successor to Nintendogs.

Is W101 your first Platinum game or something? EVERY Platinum game has plenty of references to previous works and W101 is the most referential of them all. There's a Wonderful one based on Chris Redfield, Vijounne has a move that references God Hand, W-Pink's whip is made of "Belmont" alloy, W-Blue uses Dante's catchphrase. There's solidly three separate characters that are references to Bayonetta; Wonder Pink, Wonder Witch and Bayonetta herself, not to mention Rodin and Jeanne. Seriously I'd be surprised if you could find a Platinum game that ISN'T referenced in W101
