Only competed 2 and 3. Can't pick one over the other. That said I like being OP as fuck and Metal Blade let's you be just that.

Probably 2 or 3. 3 has a lot of issues and is clearly unfinished, but every game after it has shitty pacing thanks to the Megabuster. I like Mega Man 4 a lot, but I really wish the charge shot wasn't in it.
Mega Man 9 is great, too.
9 is the best jump and shoot
4 is the best charge and slide
3 is the one that would most benefit from more production time.
7 and 8 are underrated. They may not be as good but are still a lot of fun, especially as a babby's first MegaMan game.
2, because that's the only one I played.
out of all the classic megaman,9 is honestly my favourite,good bosses,weapons,music, bosses intro,story,pretty much everything,if that one doesnt count,i think i like 2 the most,no nostalgia value here,also i love crashman's stage music

Good memories.
I like2followed by1. 3 was great too, but clearly rushed, and the rest of the NES games kind of lost their magic after that. I liked 7 despite its shortcomings, and highly enjoyed MM&B. Still haven't played 8, 9 or 10. GB games after 2 were also top of the line.

X series is too inconsistent, so I can't say I agree. No game in the original series can really be classified as bad, but the same can't be said for X. That being said, the original MMXand its remakeare better than any classic Mega Man game in my opinion.

X8 is pretty tricky, but it's considerably easier once you get life upgrades, energy tanks, rare metal upgrades etc. in the shop. There are some good grinding spots, and videos can help you find the rare metal locations. Some of them are impossible to find without help, anyways. Where in the game are you?

Oh, you're not going in the right order. No wonder you're having trouble. It's a staple of the Mega Man series that one boss's power is another boss's weakness. Either go for Dark Mantis or Burn Rooster now, as ice is fire's weakness, and the fireworks are the mantis' weakness. I'd advise Burn Rooster though, as I think I recall his stage being easier. Also remember to upgrade health in the shop, and another thing;playing on easy won't give you the full experience

Also, X and Zero are the best character for bosses, while Axl is generally good for stages. But it doesn't really matter who you play as, as they all are pretty good characters in general. You should also look for X's armor upgrades, as they power him up significantly. There's one upgrade in every stage except for the 3D ones.

Shitty voice acting can be fixed with a patch that adds back the Japanese cutscenes and opening, giving you subtitles instead. Only catch is that it's inSpanish.

I've been wanting to make a game based around it, I adore platform shooters, however Mighty no 9 looks like it ruined everything I liked about the series. Mainly the implementation of a 2.5d I guess?

2.5D in itself isn't bad, though. Powered-up was a good game, and that was 2.5D. MN9 is looking bad because it isn't stylized at all, uses a poor engine, and has horrible level design that would never pass in an actual MM game.

Not that anon, but the worst things about MM&B is that the camera is to close to you in the GBA version, and due to the game being designed about Bass, that one boss you have to jump platform to platform fighting is the biggest asshole when you're Mega man, due to him being able to destroy platforms.

I've played it twice with megaman and never had too much trouble. I played the sfc version so maybe it's more difficult with megaman on the gba version.
