A few Yakuza threads ago, some guy that said he actually worked with the Japan police force pretty much indirectly said that huge companies like SEGA are at some level funded by Yakuza. Take into account the hostesses in each game are actual women, voiced by their respective person.
I know it sounds farfetched, I'm not doing a very good job of justifying him, but he seemed to be way in the know.

I've finished the story, they don't interact that much. Akiyama interacts more with a lot of the side characters of Haruka's story/setting than Haruka herself. Nothing particularly wrong with that.

Yakuza is one of the biggest crime organisations in the world when it comes to having their fingers in a lot of pies. Yakuza is basically a part of Japan's ecosystem. Its roots are planted so deep in the country that simply refering to them as an crime organization is selling them very short.

It's kind of easy to see why the western world finds a lot of japanese entertainment "too silly" "too cutesy" or "too horrible.", there is a lot of pent-up emotions in it. You can just tell that they channel a lot of their feelings into it.
Japanese "don't think you're special" culture has lead to a lot of great things, but it's also made them extremely isolated to an unhealthy degree. They need to know that it's ok to be emotional in front of others.
Japan and the west could learn a lot from eachother. Over here everyone is an entitled special snowflake who thinks the world owes them something, but over there it's pretty much the other way around it seems.

I would argue that it's the exact other way around over in western countries.
Here everyone is supposed to have a voice and get the space they deserve. Fuck I love the combat in these games. It never gets stale or boring. In the earlier games where you were limited to Easy or Normal, it was a breeze, but on hard, I'm actually feeling challenged on some fights.
Also does anyone else try to play fights like a movie? Like taunting at appropriate times and walking in the fight scene trying to pull off punches and heat moves in a more stylish way?

Outside of letting us play the mini games online (which they already do), I hope this series never has any sort of multiplayer.
I've played too many games now, where the core experience is ruined by building the game around coop or by focusing heavily on the multiplayer over the single player (Gta 5,Dead Space 3, Resident Evil 5).
Not every game needs some sort of coop mode or some tacked on pseudo mmo feature.
Let us single player only people at least have a few games to ourselves please.

I love all the different gameplay styles and minigames each one has, Kiryu's chapter was great storywise, and to switch to someone else just when it was getting good was pretty bad.

Just beat the game. 11/10 best game ever. Final section was pretty fucking awesome, all those fights one after the other, dat final boss battle with kiryu, holy fucking shit, the way that one played out was well worth waiting 3 years to get that. Best game in the series by a large margin.

What the hell were they thinking? Not to mention that apparently a few substories are missable so you have to go to premium new game to 100%. Not that I'm complaining about going to New Game+ because I would do that anyway just for EX Hard mode but fucking hell I just wanted to play a bit in premium adventure mode before playing the whole game again. That's the biggest complaint I have about this game. Other than that it's a true 11/10 game.

Not him but you can press square and time it right so that you do that tackle one after the other, it makes those chase really easy though I haven't tried that against saigo.
