I'd agree with you except KojiPro, without Kojima, was still in charge of the script for MGR. And MGR is most definitely solid in the writing department, a wonderful thematic companion to MGS2 and 4. I don't see many other writing departments being up to snuff, but hey maybe I can be surprised.
