Isaac has gotten frustrating for me.
It seems like Edmund has this weird idea in his head that people enjoy Isaac for it's difficulty.
People like Isaac because of how fucking broken and OP you can become. Whenever something remotely fun gets added to the game, he nerfs it. It's annoying.
Characters like The Lost and The Keeper aren't fun to play as. They're frustrating.

Afterbirth? More like Stillbirth, because this game is dead on arrival.
Supposedly this bullshit was going to fix EVERYTHING wrong with Rebirth, after Rebirth fixed EVERYTHING wrong with Isaac. At this point, I knew better, but I felt morally obligated to safeguard a future generation of potential victims from Isaac's shittiness by detailing how Afterbirth fails to deliver upon the expectations

I've played 200+ hours of co-op with my housemates. It's a ton more fun than playing solo. The game supports controllers, so you don't need to crowd around the keyboard. And since it will run on a toaster, I just leave an old laptop under the TV for playing it.

The only exciting new boss fight we got was The Frail.
Everything else is drivel. Many enemies are just anti-fun. Those Mulligans who spawn leeches have way too much health, and the leeches have way too much health, and all they fucking do is act like worms that explode on death.
The reliance on damage items in the first two floors increased tenfold solely because of those enemies. You used to be able to survive if all you got were stats/defensive/utility items. Now, unless I have AT LEAST something like Jesus Juice, I just fucking restart-- not because its impossible, but because its tedious.

You need to memorize where it buried, walk close to it and then dodge the attack. That's the whole point of the attack, to forget where he is and get punished. Truly, the stain doesn't even move from his burrow attack unlike Poly.

He got that idea from the fanbase. I hate hardcore retard crap and only like Isaac for the pleasure of breaking the game, too, but we are the minority.
OP here.
You know, despite everything I've written, I still regularly play it. I dare say, I actually still like the game and think it's fun. But I don't see a reason why it continues to exist or why they try to make it relevant. It's been dead, ironically, ever since Rebirth, maybe even before.
I think I was getting past the point where I should have stopped back in the first expansion. When I broke the game and got all the items, I saw everything there was to see then. It wouldn't get better than that, literally.
Since then I think I've beaten Mega-Satan about 50 times, and only the first 5 times have actually been exciting. Since then I've beaten the game with all the combinations, all the bullets, all the meaningless confetti it offers, all the pointless, useless distractions, candles, boxes, jars, friend balls.
I've beaten Hush as Lost, Cathedral, then broke down and cheated all the other achievements open because I didn't have the patience for that bullshit. I've already proven I can get that far, what's the point of repeating that feat? When's enough? When is ANY of it enough?
When does this game fucking end?
Story already did.
Spoilers, Isaac climbed in the chest and suffocated. That's what it always was and it was pieced together by players long before Edmund confirmed it. Everything since, all the ARG and the spoopy mystery it's trying to set up is pointless, because we know it wasn't planned from the very beginning, it's literally being made up as they go, now tied into selling you DLC.
I want to get off this ride. Story won't end, because it's not a story anymore. It's an extended marketing campaign. And Keeper is absurd. I've already beaten Lost, I don't need Hardcore Challenge v2. He doesn't even unlock new things to play with, sticky nickels can go fuck themselves.
And even if he did. Just. What?
I don't care about new items anymore. Even if the new expansion promised +500 new items, it'd be as much gravel.

Add a pill that grants flying for the room its used in. Effect name would be like HIGH AS A KITE or something. Isaac would just a dumb grin on his face and just float around. Not a great effect but it could be helpful if you can't get a flying item or The Hangman card.

Pretty much every room needs buffing right now. If I had my choice:
>Angel rooms always have 1-2 items. 6 coin variant should die in hell. Chests/hearts/coins are optional extras,
>Devil rooms always have 2-3 items. Red chests / hearts are optional extras.
>Buff red chests. The current item drop rate is pathetic, making curse rooms worse than before.
>Buff pills. All bad pills should count as negative (e.g., one makes you bigger). Positive pills should be more common than negative ones, to be more in line with cards.
>Make Black Markets exist. They are very interesting rooms and bring a lot more to the game if you could fucking access them. Every crawlspace should lead into one.

Cheating. You can use Greedbutt.com to see more accurate representations of the scores. But some people still manage to get top 5 spots every daily, so it's probably not 100% accurate either. It's possible that they really are very good, but some guy has like 5 #1 dailys in a row. Another in the top 30 has been suspected of cheating twice, so probably just hides it better.

It got lightly hit so that it isn't an instant win item. It activates permanently for the room when you get hit once (or when Holy Mantle pops). Only shitters complain about the nerf because people who actually knew how to play only considered taking it on 2 characters anyway. It's still OP for Hush, Mega Satan, and Boss Rush.
They also made it so it isn't a Special item anymore, so it means that just seeing it in the shop when you can't buy it doesn't lower the chances of finding Polyphemus, Mom's Knife, etc.

Goddamn just finished a good run. I'm talking a triple digit damage run. Second floor Ipecac. Second deal with devil had Incubus. Magic Mush from boss fight. Mother fucking Polyphemus shows up. Guppy on floor before Hush. I've fought Hush about 40 times so far, many with good damage runs. Never have I seen his HP bar disappear like this (excluding Chaos Card runs). The fight lasted maybe 40 seconds tops? Including the pre-fight.
then I re-rolled everything with d100 and ended up with 2 more really fun (and high damage) runs. One had instant activate Taurus, Libra, Bane Mask, and Polyphemus. Second had Rubber Cement triple shot Tech 2.
Seed was E2B3 Z6CB as Eden on Hard.
I don't think I should play anymore. Most of the time when I see supposedly good items I think "fuck not again", like Mom's Knife, Ipecac, Dr. Fetus or Epic Fetus.
I just want regular tear effects, but since those are in the same pool with million other things they never fucking come up. It's been ages since I saw Rubber Cement, Explosivo or Continuum before Chest.
I don't want overpowered runs. I want to have fun.
