The Souls games are action games, not RPGs.
In an RPG, character skill needs to be the decisive factor rather than player skill. The player makes the decisions, the character executes them. If the chance of successful execution does not depend on character skill then it's not an RPG but an action game.
But all roleplaying is a fantasy.
