>Playing Dark Souls
>At Manus Fight getting my ass kicked

>They ask for my roommate (who loved hanging out with chicks)
>One girl goes into bedroom to talk to him, other stays in living room with me watching me play
>Haven't said a word to each other yet
>Still fighting Manus
>For some reason, since this beautiful girl is watching me play, I literally couldn't get hit.
>I was dodging all of his attacks
>Killed Manus without getting hit
>After I beat the bossfight, I turned around to say sorry I didn't say hi sooner
>Realize how beauiful she is
>We start dating
Fast Forward a year
>Replaying Dark Souls again
>Getting my ass kicked on Kalameet
>Try and see if my girlfriend really is magical
>Go over to her room to chill and play vidya
>She watches me fight the dragon
>Literally dodge every move
>Finish the playthrough Flawlessly in there
I don't know what it is because I play the same when people watch me, but now she's my muse. Anybody else got any weird stories?

I thought I was the only one whose experienced this.
I'm a total degenerate and play an absurd amount ofdota.
Whenever I'm having to interact with someone (phone call, etc) and play at the same time, I end up playing out of my fucking mind compared to when I'm playing alone, and I'm already extremely good to begin with.
I think it's a common occurrence, but not one that's been spoken about much.

The girl I've been seeing for four years (December 10th anniversary) first showed up at my place when I was playing Dark Souls for the first time. I loved DeS back then and was super hyped for this one. I was fighting the asylum demon I believe, lobbing fireballs at him and rekking his shit.
But when she walked in, I started talking to her while I played, not as interested in it, and then I turned it off and we went to the movies (ended up dry humping and making out in the parking lot later on, fuck yeah).
That marked a small vacation I took from any vidya, those first six months of our relationship.
Fast forward today and she loves vidya, somehow I got her into a ton of games from Sly Cooper and Nintendo shit to Red Dead Redemption and JRPGs. She even likes anime and started listening to JRock/JPop over garbage radio music (thank god).
She watched me play every single boss in Dark Souls, Demons Souls, DaS2, and Bloodborne.
Moral of the story: don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. You may be able to return to plus one.

As a kid whenever my dad would watch me play vidya I was terrible, normal dialogue would make me cringe and get embarrassed and I'd try to skip over it whenever possible. Sometimes I'd change the channel when someone came into my room.

That's pretty much precisely it. I can't stand playing against that guy. I even lost my motivation in another tournament I played in a while back in a similar scenario, again at grand finals against a guy I had beaten previously. The difference was that I realized I didn't enjoy fighting his Meta Knight when I liked going up against his Falcon and Mario previously.

It's fine. I don't like to consider myself good though, at least not until I can safely say I'm the best Mac. I only say that I know how to use him and I occasionally dispense advice. I play the game because I like it and want to get better, not for money or status. If I realize I'm not enjoying something, it kills my performance.
