Takashi Takebe, Yuichi Hasegawa, Akira Kashiwagi and Noriyuki Iwadare are the main people behind Grandia and all of them still work at GameArts.
If anything, blame them for trying to ripoff Monster Hunter and failing at it instead of making Grandia 4.
