The dungeon design sucked, the OST was so limited (he same track for every dungeon, really?), the plot and characters were handled poorly, as well as most of the important points.
Combat and bosses were just trivial.
The visuals left a lot to be desired, the street pass stuff was fucking stupid, as was the SP mechanic.
The only thing i liked was the job system, ripped straight from already existing FF titles.

in terms of story it's about cookie-cutter JRPG as you can get. dungeons are bland and boring as fuck and lack any puzzles. job variety is neat but you can't really experiment with many of them or do any cool combinations without grinding heaps for JP which is just tedious. the only time it's efficient to grind for JP to level up your jobs so you can play around is late game which is when you have access to shit like Dark Knight and Spiritmaster and the game is basically a joke at that point because those classes are just OP as fuck
the combat system is interesting on paper but pretty flawed. it basically trivializes random encounters because you can just brave x3 and blow away the enemy before they can even act and for boss fights it really doesn't add any strategic layers. you basically just default until everyone has full stocks and then it's just standard flowchart turn-based combat of spamming your best move and healing
