Wrong. Fighting games have certain standards, camera angle is one of them. Watch this clip of Tekken, this is a 3d fighting game accepted by the FGC, and as you'll notice while the camera angle can change, it consistently stays in the side scrolling angle for the majority of the fight, camera angle changes are for simple dramatic effect during certain attacks.
