I've played free mobile games with more content than some stuff that is sold on steam. Each game has to be weighed on it's own merits. The overall quality of mobile platform games is low, but that's because the threshold for getting your game into an app store is low if you're willing to throw money at the problem.

Mobile games will never be real games because the user base is not willing to invest their effort to learn or immerse themselves into the games they buy.
If Pokemon, which is one of the simplest "real games" ever, goes onto mobile, it will undoubtedly be degenerated.
The story line will suffer, the quality of the character design will suffer, and it will become a bare bones game where people play it only for its gameplay and its superficial value. In other words, playing it just because it is pokemon.
