No. Not at all. The characters are shallow. The story is awful. The soundtrack is like a bootleg persona soundtrack. The dungeons are all the same. The gameplay is shallow and repetitive. The social links are also boring and considering you have to do repetitive little interactions to boost them, they get old fast. It's awful. The waifus don't make up for it.

No. Voice acting doesn't magically make them good characters. They aren't interesting at all. I played it with japanese audio, sometimes switching to english for comparison. It's nothing special.
Neptunia isn't good either, but I can at least understand some sort of charm people can get from that series. Conception has nothing.

end this meme now. Building relationships for benefits in battle isn't just a persona thing. And the conversations are only repetitive if you fuck them up and have to do them over or if you leave one girl behind. The overarching stories within them are also pretty interesting.
And party building was pretty great. Just needed to be fleshed out a bit more along with the battle system.
Conception II had some good ideas and some bad ideas, if you go around shutting down every game that took a few missteps then all that we'll be left with is triple A garbage that's as inoffensive as possible in both gameplay and story.

When a character is given slack because they have more than 2 character traits, then you should notice something is wrong. They aren't interesting and lack depth. Just because they're slightly better than your average anime waifu doesn't give them a free pass. Okay, some people give the story some weight in an RPG. And a good story is usually necessary in an RPG to provide a sense of progression. The soundtrack is easily worse than the Persona games. No songs stand out. When the dungeons are all the same, then it's repetitive and boring. Most of the enemies are just palette swaps of each other and you rarely have to change up any strategy beyond attacking from this one side where it's weak. You don't even have to analyze them to find the weak spot. It just tells you, making it extremely mind-numbing. Yes, it is devoid of enjoyment past the first hour or so, because it never advances. It's the same thing over and over. Just because they aren't called social links, doesn't make them not the same system. No, it's not just if you fuck them up. You'll often have to do the same mini events over and over to raise their friendship. Especially if you don't use all of the heroins in battle. Which is understandable because the game really wants you to pick one and use their children for battle benefits.
I will agree that it could have been a good game if the ideas were expanded on, but they weren't. And it ends up being a generic, forgettable, and boring experience.

The demo is pretty weak compared to the full game, I'd say it's definitely worth it if you liked the demo. The game's on the easy side though, even if you try to 100% all the Special Conditions on a mission, and you don't permanently lose units if they fall while fighting. That said, the focus on the game is more on the story and the character than gameplay.
